ICCAC All-Region Selections

The ICCAC announced its 2016-17 All-Region Team Monday morning, and Iowa Western had 5 girls recognized for their season performance. Sophomores Lade Adepoju, Alicia Mountain, and Melis Ucar were named 1st team All-Region while freshmen Azaria Floyd and Jazza Johns nabbed Honorable Mentioned.  

Lade Adepoju-Sophomore-Forward led a balanced Iowa Western scoring attack, averaging 9.5 points per game. She was seventh in the nation in field goal percentage, shooting 63.1 percent. Adepoju also pulled down a team-high 4.4 rebounds per

Alicia Mountain-Sophomore-Guard did a little bit of everything for the Reivers this season. Mountain averaged 8.9 points per game, pulled down 3.3 rebounds, and dished out 1.8 assists per contest. Mountain was key to Iowa Western's success this season, leading the team in minutes per game.

Melis Ucar-Sophomore-Guard started every game this season for the Reivers. Ucar averaged 7.6 points per game, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.6 assists in her 31 starts. Ucar was also second on team in steals per game, averaging 1.6 steals per contest.

Azaria Floyd-Freshman-Guard was the team’s unsung hero this year. With more than 3 games in double figures Azaria averaged 7.3 points per game, shot 44.4% from the field and averaged 1.2 assists per game.

Jazza Johns-Freshman-Forward just recently came off a huge game winning shot against North Dakota State College of Science. She averaged 8.7 points per game, shot 47.7% from the field and averaged 4.2 rebounds per game.


All 3 sophomore athletes are still in the process of trying to find their next home for the upcoming 2017-2018 season. Iowa Western wishes them the best of luck in their pursuit.
