The Reivers' indoor squad made the trip to compete in the Jayhawk Classic hosted by the University of Kansas. The Men's Multis were led by Sophomore Marcus Klein and Freshmen Jonathan Whitcomb and Evan Porter who had a great first day. Klein had the fastest time in the 60m, completing the race in 7.05. Porter finished with the second fastest time of 7.10. Klein added to his lead by winning the long jump at 6.79m, which set a PR and Evan coming through with a 5.89 finish. Staying consistent thought the day the Reivers led into the High Jump, the last event of the day. Multi newcomer, Evan Porter hits his PR in the high jump at 1.64m. Jonh Whitcomb also had a solid make, taking 3rd with 1.83m. Marcus Klein also jumped 1.83 which was another PR and gave him a 400 point lead at the end of Day 1. Day 2 started with the women's multi 60m hurdles. Sophomore Zarin Goodrich is the lone female multi for the Reivers and cashed in a solid performance. The newcomer scored 2161, currently top 5 on the NJCAA leader board! The men started up right after the women, also with the 60m hurdles. Evan Porter posted a time of 9.10, while Marcus Klein posted the fastest time of the day and a PR at 8.38. He was disqualified however, after much discussion from the officials. The DQ was a result of improper lane placement and a bit controversial. The pole vault was Freshman John Whitcomb's strong suit, jumping 3.94m, the best jump of all the Reivers. With emotions high, the Reiver trio finished the day off strong in the 1000m posting a top 3 fastest time. John Whitcomb had the most consistent day and it paid off with a score of 3884 placing him top 3 in the Nation. Evan Porter posted a score 3646, placing him in the top 10 and despite the DQ, Marcus Klein was still able to post a Top 10 score of 3771. After the first Hept and Pent of the year the Reviers performed very well and are looking to improving on their scores later in the season.
