Iowa Western Reivers

Reiver Basketball Alum Thik Bol Standing out for Southern Illinois

Thik Bol’s outstanding play during his career at Iowa Western has been carried over this season for Southern Illinois University-Carbondale.  The 6’8 junior forward has started every game and is playing 29 minutes per contest for the Saluki’s.  Last Sunday against Indiana State, Bol posted a career high 18 points and 6 blocks.  This type of performance comes as no surprise to Iowa Western fans as Thik consistently had monster games while wearing a Reiver uniform.  Thik’s outstanding play also earned him Missouri Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week honors after averaging 12 .5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.5 blocks in games against Bradley and Loyola.

Bol also had a recent article in the Omaha World Herald highlighting his performance this season at SIU-Carbondale.  In the article Thik mentions his experience and the coaching he received while at Iowa Western helped prepare him for the success he is now having at the NCAA Division I level.  To read the Omaha World herald article and learn more about Thik Bol’s success at Southern Illinois-Carbondale click on the link below.
