Ersoy and Evreniadis shine at Chip-N-Club Invitational

The Reivers faced off against 10 NCAA Division I schools at the Chip-N-Club Invitational hosted by the University of Nebraska. The 3 round tournament spanned 3 days and was played at Wilderness Ridge Golf Club in Lincoln, Nebraska.

The Reivers got off to a solid start by shooting a team score of 317 in the first round which put them in a tie for 8th place. Freshman Cassidy Evreniadis led the team with a round of 74 and returning All-American Sena Ersoy who carded 77.

In round 2 the Reivers improved their score by 1 shooting 316. Even with the improvement the team fell to 9th place. Ersoy led the way with a round of 72 and Evreniadis carded 75. Both Ersoy and Evreniadis were tied for 11th place after the first 2 rounds.

Round 3 saw the Reivers slip 2 more spots down the leaderboard into 11th after a score of 322. Ersoy again carded a solid round this time of 75 and Evreniadis right behind her at 76. Ersoy ended the tournament in 15th place and Evreniadis one place behind her at 16th.

“I felt like this was a great experience for our women. Our players have ambition to one day play at this level and now they know what it looks like. There are a lot of great players around the country and it was good for us to be able to play against a few of them. It’s very early in the season for us and we will continue to improve but I like where we are now. This week we had a hard time finding a solid 4th score. If the women keep working hard I’m confident that it will pay off,” coach Thompson.

The women tee it up again on the 3rd and 4th of October at the Bellevue Fall Invitational.
