2017 Wildcat Classic

After coming off a stellar indoor season the Reivers open up the outdoor season at Wayne NE. for the 11th Annual Wildcat Open. The Reivers claimed 8 event winners 1 school records and 3 national qualifiers for the NJCAA National Track and Field Meet this coming May in Hutchinson Kansas.

         The field events started off the day at 11 a.m. with 2 Reivers leading the way and winning the long jump Sophomore Kellyann James qualified and won the long jump with a leap of 5.62m 18’5”.25   Freshman Marcus Klein had a great day in the long jump with a winning leap of (6.54m).Sophomore Patria just misses breaking a school record by 5 inches in the discus with a throw of (49.47m) placing her on top for the day and also at the top of the NJCAA leaderboards.  

 The running events started at 1:00 p.m. with several other Reivers qualifying for indoor national meet.  Freshman Datien Rhone and Vincent Gordon with the 1-2 punch in the 100m with times of (10.96) and (10.64). 123 went the Reivers in the 200 lead by Kyle Farrell with a time of (21.81) Shaheed Hickman (21.84) and Akiel Smith (22.43) Not to be out done the lady Reivers also went 12 in the 200m lead by Freshman Sharon Mainor with a time of (25.42) Jalayzha Turner-Ford with a time of  (25.78)

Transfer sophomore Shanice Lewis ran fastest time of the day in the women's 100m hurdles by running 14.85 and Kellyann James taking 2nd with a time of (15.25).  The crowing jewel of the day was Tremayne Flagler in the 110H running a time of 14.49 and breaking the school record and put him on top of the NJCAA leaderboards.
