2017 KT Woodman

The Reivers were in action today at the KT Woodman Classic in Wichita KS. The day was filled with wind but that didn’t stop the Reivers from breaking 4 school records!

The Iowa Western female throwers had a huge meet. Zarin Goodrich set a school record in the Javelin. Her throw of 39.23m has her sitting in the number 7 spot on the NJCAA ranking board Patria Vaimaona is still at the top of the NJCAA leaderboard in the Discus with her throw of 49.47m. Monique Apuakehau lead the Reiver jumpers breaking the school record with a 4th place finish in the pole vault with a jump of 3.37m.

Sophomore Kyle Farrell set a season PR in the 100m with a time of 10.55 which is good enough for a sport at the NJCAA National Outdoor Championships. Jordan Minnis runs a 49.02 in the 400m taking 5th at the meet. Freshman Vincent Gordon coming off a great meet last week has another excellent meet running the 200m in a time of 20.88 only .03 off the school record and the 6th fastest time in NJCAA. Tremayne Flagler does it again for the 2 week in a row breaks the school record in the 110 hurdles with a time of 13.93 which is the fastest time in NJCAA. Transfer standout Saqukine Cameron had an amazing day at the track starting by crushing the7 year school record in the 100m with a time of 11.32 and this was the first time she has ran the 100m in 2 years, but she was not do she also ran the 400m in 54.75 which is the fastest time in NJCAA. The Reivers had a great showing at KT and this meet shows the possibility on what could happen at the Nationals Meet in May.The Reivers will be in action next week at the KU Relays and the Jim Dutcher Invite
