Council Bluffs, IA -- In response to the news Head Softball Coach Ben Greer commented, "Being recognized as a Top 20 program nationally is always an honor but our focus is on getting better throughout the season. I'm much more interested in where we'll be in May than where people place us in January."
The Reivers will take on fierce competition this year having 24 of their 60 games fall against teams in the Preseason Top 20 list (D1 and D2). When asked about the schedule this year sophomore Allison O'Driscoll (Colorado Springs, CO) replied, "I am super excited about the intensity of our schedule. In comparison to last year, I think this schedule will allow us to face adversity earlier in the season. We have been preparing all fall and winter and I think this group has a lot to offer offensively and defensively." Sophomore Lily Gregory (Boise, ID) also added, "I'm excited to see how our hard work off the field is going to translate into this season. The rankings are going to be a daily reminder of the work that will need to be put in to get us in that number one spot".
The Reivers will test their rank early in the season as they face #4 Butler and #17 Northeastern Oklahoma A&M their opening weekend February 8th-10th.
