GRAND ISLAND, NE
The Reiver's traveled to Grand Island, NE last weekend to participate in the ACUI Midwest Conference Championships. The Revier's had the chance to compete in four events (skeet, trap, sporting clays & super sporting clays) against 270 student athletes from over 20 schools.
Weston Zolck placed 38th with an overall score of 300/350. Lucas Schmidt placed 69th with an overall score of 285/350. Ryan Philby placed 75th with an overall score of 283/350. The Reiver's took home 11th place in the team standings.
Head coach, Derek Pollock, commented on the team's last event for the fall season: "It was a cold, windy weekend but we had some nice targets. I'm very happy with the athletes' ability to finish strong and make improvements on the second day of the meet. We put ourselves right in the middle of the team standing for this meet, which I am happy with considering we are new to the game. We will continue to practice as we can over the winter so we are ready to come back in the spring."
