Ryan Norman enters his third season as Iowa Western’s Director of Player Development for both Men’s and Women’s golf after being hired on May 8, 2023. Coach Norman came to Iowa Western after spending four seasons at Nebraska Wesleyan where he had been the head women's golf coach since 2019 and was added to the role of head men's golf coach in 2021. Norman has been a Class A PGA Professional for 15 years.

While at Nebraska Wesleyan, Norman rebuilt the Women’s golf program. The women’s program won a tournament for the first time in six years and had an individual women’s golfer earn All-Conference honors. During his final season at NWU the men’s program finished as the runner-up at the 2023 American Rivers Conference Tournament, with four out of five golfers earning All-Conference honors.

Coach Norman has been involved with (6) NJCAA D1 National Championship appearances since arriving at IWCC. (3) on the men’s side, and (3) on the women’s. The men finished 17th at Nationals during the ’22-’23 season, 18th in ’23-’24, and 12th during the ’24-’25 campaign. He has coached two Reivers to All-American honors during his time in Council Bluffs. Ethan Smith was an honorable mention All-American in 2023, and Ethan Main earned All-American status this past May 2025. Several Reivers both men and women have also received ICCAC Conference Athlete of the Week honors during his time here.

As a competitor, Norman has qualified twice (2015, 2025) for the PGA Professional National Championship, which highlights the top 300 PGA Playing Professionals in the country. The top 20 finishers from that event punch their ticket to the PGA Championship. Norman competes within the Nebraska Section PGA and has qualified for Nebraska PGA Cup teams, as well as the Nebraska PGA Centennial Cup in 2025. He is a 9-time Nebraska Section PGA Teacher of the Year Nominee and a 5-time Nebraska Section PGA Youth Player Development Nominee. Coach Norman guided one of his junior golfers to a runner-up finish at the 2025 Drive, Chip, and Putt National Championships held at Augusta National the Sunday before the 2025 Masters.
