Men's Cross Country wins Region 11 Championship
FORT DODGE, Iowa - Iowa Western Men's Cross Country edged out Iowa Central to win the 2025 ICCAC D1 Conference Championship at Lakeside Municipal Golf Course.
The Reivers went 1-2 at the top with Barnabas Ndiwa taking home the individual title with a time of 24:05.9, followed by Geofrey Ronoh, 18 seconds behind him.
The team also scored points from Flynn Pumpa (6th), Miguel Angel Lopez Carranza (8th), and Pierre Carlier (9th), for a total of 26 points. The Tritons were led by a 3rd place finish by Soufyane Laaziz to top their 30 team point total.
Des Moines Area CC would win the DII team title with their top runner, Eli Page, finishing in 12th place overall.
The team will head back to Lakeside Municipal Golf Course to run in the NJCAA National Championships, hosted by Iowa Central, on November 8th, starting at 10:00 am. Last year's NJCAA Men's Cross Country Runner-up and Half Marathon Champions will look to bring home the 8th team national title for the track & field and cross country program since 2021.
