The Iowa Western women's basketball team shot 50 percent from the field and outrebounded Highland (Ill.) 54-27 on Thursday night in a 91-54 season-opening win.
"It was a good first win,'' Iowa Western coach Lindsey Vande Hoef said. "I think obviously we are really trying to build a new team and new identity this year. I'm excited to see how this is all going to come together.''
The Reivers, ranked 19th in the NJCAA Division I preseason poll, were led by sophomore Kiara Dallman's 21 points. Aubriana Noti added 14 and Naomie Alnatas and De'Ayra Davis 12 each.
Dallman made all 10 of her field-goal attempts.
All 11 Reivers who played collected at least one rebound, led by Noti and Haley Moore with nine each. Dallman added eight.
