Reivers pick up their first win of the season!
Reiver Women open the season up with a good win at the Lila Frommelt Fall Classic, hosted by Briar Cliff University. The 2-day event took place in Sioux City on 2 separate golf courses.
The women got off to a rocky start on the front 9 on day one but turned a good score in on their back 9 to take the lead by 4 strokes. Led by sophomore Olivia Holyoak-Church with a score of 78. Fellow Sophomore Jennifer Cho was in second place with a 79.
Day 2 saw a good team effort all around, led again with Holyoak at a 77. Sophomore Skylar Benjamin recorded her best round as a Reiver with a 78 and Freshman Nina Lesbros scored an 80. Cho finalized the team scoring with an 84. The Reivers went on to win by 4 strokes over a very talented Concordia University team.
"For our first tournament I thought it went well," said Head Coach Matt Robinson. "Opening up in a tournament that uses 2 separate courses doesn't allow us to play practice rounds. So, they girls were seeing the course for the first time actually playing it. That's tough to do."
The Reivers will be back in Action Sept 15th and 16th when they travel to McPershon Kansas for the Central Kansas Classic, hosted by Central Christian University.
