Holyoak-Church Competes Well in Division I Event
Olivia Holyoak-Church finished tied for 7th at the recent BIG O Classic hosted by Creighton University and University of Omaha. The tournament was played at the Oak Hills Country Club, a Championship venue. Playing 36 holes on Day 1 She ended tied for 2nd place after round one with a score of 73, 1 stroke over par. Round 2 showed signs of fatigue while she recorded a 79 in limited daylight. She bounced back with a round of 76 to complete a top 10 finish against a field consisting of NCAA Division I players.
"It was a good Showing for Liv", said Head Coach Matt Robinson. "She played well against some tough competition and held her own."
This tournament completed the women's season for the fall. They ended the season with all top 10 finishes with 3 of them being in the top 5 and an overall win in their first event. "I saw some good things out of our women this fall", said Robinson. "We never had a round where all the girls played their best, so the team scores weren't the best. But the fall is for learning and adjusting. We will be ready to go in the Spring."
