Reivers Dominate Redtails in Road Dual
WATERLOO, Iowa - The Iowa Western Reivers put together a commanding performance on the road, earning a 41–12 dual win over Hawkeye Community College behind a relentless series of bonus point victories.
The dual opened at 125lbs, where Noah Jones set the tone early, rolling to a 16-1 technical fall to give the Reivers their first five points of the night. His effort was immediately matched at 133lbs by Isaac Ekdahl, who secured a fall and pushed the Reiver's lead to 11–0.
Hawkeye momentarily halted the momentum at 141 with a fall of their own, but it wouldn't take long for the Reivers to reestablish control.
At 149lbs, Logan Crowther delivered one of the most dominant showings of the evening, scoring a 15-0 technical fall in the first period.
The Reivers added a pair of uncontested victories at 157lbs (Reed Patera) and 197lbs (Royal Dickson), each earning six points via forfeit.
At 165lbs, Andrew Crowther showcased textbook efficiency, storming to a 16-1 technical fall, while at 174lbs, returning All-American, Matteo Nikolov, posted another impressive 17-2 tech fall.
One of the night's most gritty performances came from 184 pounder Cal Wells, who secured a 4–1 decision over Gianni Sutherland in a tough, controlled match.
The Reivers opened ICCAC competition strong and walked away with a decisive 41–12 team victory, highlighted by six bonus point wins.
