Reivers Show Fight at Home, Come up Short against #3 Iowa Central
COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa - In front of a strong home crowd on Wednesday night, the Iowa Western Reivers battled in every weight class but ultimately fell 25–17 to visiting #3 Iowa Central.
The night opened at 125lbs, where Noah Jones ignited the Reiver bench with a dominant 17–6 major decision over Kolton Keller. Jones' ability to score in every period gave Iowa Western an early 4–0 advantage. Iowa Central answered at 133lbs, where Isaac Ekdahl dropped a 7–2 decision to #1 Tegan Sherk. Iowa Central followed with a tech fall at 141lbs.
Logan Crowther got the Reivers back on track with a 17–2 technical fall over Chase Moore. Braxton Peacher kept the energy rolling for the Reivers at 157lb, earning a convincing 9–0 major decision over Levi Johnson. At 165lbs, Andrew Crowther earned an 11–2 major decision over Devin Perez. The victory extended the Reiver lead and highlighted one of the strongest stretches of the night for Iowa Western.
Iowa Central was able to swing the momentum back in their favor at 174lbs and would go on to win the final 3 matches of the night to claim the dual victory.
