Bio
Abby McIntyre begins her first season with Iowa Western Women's Wrestling for 2026-27.
McIntyre spent last season as an assistant coach at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, IA, under Paige Storm, with two wrestlers being named American Rivers All-Conference Second Team
A three-time NAIA All-American and three-time Heart of America (HOA) conference Champion for Grand View University, McIntyre finished as the NAIA National Runner-up in 2024, took 3rd place in 2023, and 7th place in 2022. In 2024, she was named the HOA Conference Outstanding Wrestler, Grand View's Viktors Award for Female Athlete of the Year, and earned the Wade Shalles Award for the greatest number of pins in college wrestling.
During her time as a collegiate wrestler, McIntyre also coached Twin River National Duals on three separate occasions (2022, 2023, 2024), leading her squad to an AAU national championship in 2024.
A native of Glenwood, IA, McIntyre was a two-time IWCOA state champion for the Rams and a USA state freestyle champion and Fargo All-American. In 2020 and 2021, McIntyre was a finalist for the Dan Gable Wrestler of the Year Award and was named the Hy-Vee Wrestler of the Year in 2020.
