Mile for Sarah's Smile

The Reiver cross country team and coaching staff got to participate in the 2nd. Annual "Mile for Sarah's Smile" event this past Sunday.  The event was started by the Root family in remembrance of Sarah Root who was killed by a drunk driver. The family set up the event to fund scholarships at Iowa Western Community College and one at Bellevue University. The proceeds from the event help fund these scholarships.  Sarah also was part of the organ donor program of Iowa.  This unspeakable act took a young, energetic, and full of smiles young lady from our community but because of her unselfish belief she has given back life to others.  Sarah's smile will always be remembered.
