COUNCIL BLUFFS - The Iowa Western Reivers picked up their 20th win of the season on Wednesday night in Reiver Arena over Iowa Lakes. Both teams struggled offensively in the first half as the Reivers shot 33% while the Lakers shot 32%. Iowa Western would go on a mini run to end the half with a 33-25 advantage.
Iowa Western picked up the pace in the second half and quickly pushed the lead to double figures and never looked back. The Reivers found several transition opportunities, which extended the lead to 20 points midway through the half. Zayden Best led all scorers with 16 points off the bench. Judah Vignery scored 12 points and grabbed 8 rebounds, while Kris Brown scored 10 points, grabbed 6 rebounds, and had 3 steals.
With the win, the 19th-ranked Reivers are now 20-6 overall on the season and 10-6 in the ICCAC. Next up, Iowa Western will head to Boone, Iowa, on Saturday afternoon for a matchup with DMACC, the #2 team in the NJCAA.
