Indian Hills Series
On Sunday afternoon, the Reivers and the Warriors battled in a slugfest at the Marshall Complex. Both teams combined for 19 runs, four home runs, and 21 hits in game one.
Freshman Harlee Fowler started the scoring with a 3-run shot to center field in the bottom of the 2nd inning. The Warriors answered back with six runs in the top of the 3rd and three runs in the 5th, behind home runs from Cassandra Benberg, Chandler Houselog, and Madisyn Buysse. IW plated four runs in the 4th inning on a 2-run single from Rodriguez and an RBI single from Taylin Tabor. Two more runs in the bottom of the 5th tied the game at nine, going into the final frame.
Kyla Parker sent the Warriors down, stranding a runner at second. Singles from Rinacke and Tabor, followed by a walk to Borud, loaded the bases for Rodriguez. She would draw a 4-pitch walk to end the game 10-9.
Logan Brown got the start in game number two and worked three straight clean innings before giving up a 2-run home run to Mary Paige Withers in the 4th.
Iowa Western responded with five runs in the bottom of the 5th, including home runs from Borud and Jaiden Burris. The Reivers kept the momentum going in the 6th with a 2-run triple by Tabor, followed by an RBI single from Borud. Back-to-back walks with one out gave way to Amelia Ehlert, and the sophomore delivered, launching a grand slam to left center field to end the game 12-2.
The Reivers improved to 39-5 on the season, and 10-2 in ICCAC Conference play. They will look to secure home-field advantage for the postseason Region 11 tournament as they travel to Creston, IA on April 29th for a doubleheader with Southwestern CC and then wrap up the 2026 regular season with a doubleheader at Marshalltown CC on May 2nd.
Following the games on the 2nd, the ICCAC will release the postseason tournament schedule, @reiversoftball and @goreivers will also have it on social media.
