Reivers Continue Winning Streak with Win over Metro
COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa - Iowa Western Men's Basketball continued its hot start to the season with an 80-72 victory over the Metropolitan Community College Wolves.
The Reivers would get out to a quick 8-0 lead as Zayden Best and Judah Vignery connected on a pair of early triples. Iowa Western would control much of the first half, but the Wolves would stay within striking distance with their pressure defense. Metro would force 10 first-half turnovers for the Reivers, but Iowa Western took a 38-29 advantage into the locker room at halftime.
The Reivers would also strike quickly to start the second half with back-to-back scores to extend the lead, but every time Iowa Western would push their lead to double digits, the Wolves would respond.
At the end of the game, the Reivers would convert at the foul line to earn their 5th straight win to start the season. Zayden Best led the Reivers in scoring with 22 points on 8 of 16 from the floor.
